Greg Modic

Greg is a professional engineer by training, having earned both his BS in Civil Engineering and his BS in Surveying and Mapping from the University of Akron. His focus on math, science and industrial arts (drafting, architecture, woodworking and electrical) began at Strongsville High School where he graduated.

Greg obtained his license as a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio, passed the State of Ohio fundamentals of Surveying Exam, and ultimately became a shareholder and principal of the engineering firm he worked at. The relationships he built with key clients lead the transition in the world of land development as he became the Director of Entitlement and Planning at Pulte Homes of Ohio. Greg joined Petros Development to partner with Sam Petros in acquiring and developing properties to deliver residential lots to builders across Northeast Ohio.

Greg prides himself on developing partnerships with the communities and agencies he works with to ensure all projects are a success for everyone – including the communities themselves. This is evidenced by Summit Soil & Water Conservation District (SSWCD) awarding Greg the 2019 SSWCD Urban Conservation award, which is the first time this award was presented to a developer in nearly 20 years.

Greg has been married to his wife Sarah for 17 years and they have 2 daughters, Jacqueline and Prescott, along with 2 beagles Percy and Daisy. Greg and Sarah believe in the importance of volunteering and giving back and try to find ways to include their children so that they too understand this importance. As a family, they enjoy volunteering at St Malachi Backdoor Ministry distributing hot meals, and Sarah also spends time volunteering at Camp Cheerful. Greg and his family are currently building a new home on Columbia Station and look forward to finding local opportunities to get involved and give back to the community.
